The 20-year-old reality star was exiting her residential driveway when another vehicle collided with hers in a “T-bone” accident.
Her mother, Mama June Shannon, broke the news through an Instagram video, referring to the incident as her daughter’s “first car wreck” but reassured fans that she is “okay” and “resting.”

Mama June provided an update in a video taken from a busy airport, where she was preparing to board a flight to be with her daughter. She explained that the accident occurred while Honey Boo Boo was leaving home, stating that the 23-year-old male driver acknowledged his fault. “He admitted that he was going 40mph and likely wasn’t paying attention,” she shared, noting that the collision impacted the driver’s side of her daughter’s car.
“The situation could have been a lot worse,” she remarked.
Following the accident, Thompson was treated at the hospital and later released, currently recovering at home with complaints of back pain and headaches.

Mama June revealed that her daughter was “just going to go get her hair done” when the incident took place.
Mama June elaborated through her Instagram caption: “Today has definitely been a whirlwind since 3 PM. Alana Thompson is over 20 hours away, chasing her dreams, yet the moment you receive that distressing call your stomach drops. I’ll share the full story tomorrow, but she is home and resting.”
She emphasized that her daughter is “banged up a little but is otherwise okay after her first car accident.”
Describing the incident, Mama June confirmed that Thompson was “just going to get her hair done” when the crash occurred.

Despite the accident, Honey Boo Boo remained eager to attend her first nursing clinicals the following morning.
