NBCUniversal is gearing up for an exciting new series with the release of the first trailer for “Suits: LA,” a spinoff of the popular show “Suits.” The show is set to premiere on NBC on Feb. 23 and is led by Stephen Amell as Ted Black, a former federal prosecutor from New York who has rebranded himself as a powerful attorney in Los Angeles.
The pilot episode delves into Ted’s struggle to save his failing firm by taking on a role he once despised. Surrounded by a dynamic group of characters, Ted must navigate the challenges of balancing personal and professional relationships while confronting events from his past that continue to haunt him.
Joining Stephen Amell in the cast are Josh McDermitt, Lex Scott Davis, Troy Winbush, Victoria Justice, and original “Suits” star Gabriel Macht returning as Harvey Spencer. The show’s creator, Aaron Korsh, serves as writer and executive producer, along with David Bartis, Doug Liman, and Gene Klein. Victoria Mahoney directs the pilot episode.
President of Universal International Studios and UCP, Beatrice Springborn, has confirmed that “Suits: LA” is set in the same universe as the original series. “Suits” originally aired for nine seasons on USA Network from 2011-2019 but saw a resurgence in popularity after its addition to Netflix last year. The show dominated the Netflix charts and accumulated over 45 billion minutes of viewing on Netflix and Peacock combined.
