Stephen Miller faced a wave of criticism and ridicule following his recent declarations lauding Donald Trump and his approach to the Iran conflict.
In his capacity as the White House deputy chief of staff for policy, Miller expressed enthusiastic support for the president’s management of the situation. This took place during a segment on Laura Ingraham’s Fox News program, as dissent continued to mount over the absence of a definitive resolution, escalating oil prices, and the administration’s changing narratives.
“The United States has surpassed its goals more swiftly than anyone anticipated,” Miller asserted, often known for his effusive commendation of the president.
“President Trump has considered every possible scenario and strategic option,” he continued, describing it as “undeniably the most decisive victory given the objectives.”
On social media, critics highlighted that Trump had indeed confessed to being caught off guard by Iran’s retaliation against other Middle Eastern nations, and noted his difficulties in securing the Strait of Hormuz, a crucial channel for oil transportation located near Iran.
Rep. Ted Lieu (D-Calif.) pointed out Trump’s own astonishment at Iran’s counterattack on neighboring countries, commenting: “Trump officials consistently show disdain for Fox viewers and hosts. Trump officials frequently and openly deceive Fox viewers and hosts.”
Adam Kinzinger (R-Ill.), a known Trump critic, sarcastically remarked, “He’s a genius, of course.”
