StreamElements, a cloud-based platform that equips streamers with various tools, was speculated to be closing in May 2026. However, recent developments indicate a positive shift, as the platform has announced it is striving to remain operational with the support of an “amazing partner.” This update follows the company’s confirmation that it is engaged in “positive discussions with potential acquirers.”

Initially, leaked Discord messages from employees suggested that StreamElements was on the verge of shutting down permanently and would stay open for “30 days only”:

“Today is my last day… as the company prepares to close its doors. We want to ensure all our creators are supported during this transition.”

On May 21, the company communicated directly with its community, stating it would remain active and had secured funding to continue operations:

“Official update for our community: We are not shutting down! StreamElements is in conversation with an amazing partner aligned around one thing: working in the interest of creators and the community. Your tools and data are safe. We’ve secured funding while partner integration is underway, and pending creator payments will roll out over the coming weeks. More information soon, I’m sure you’ll like it.”

This message was notably penned by Or Perry, the company’s CEO, who previously served as the Head of Brand Partnerships.

Who is the “partner” supporting StreamElements?

Industry reporter @ZachBussey shared a screenshot from the platform’s Discord server, featuring a message from Or Perry, which stated:

“Guys, I love the guessing game we’re all a part of, but here is the incredible detail: I haven’t seen anyone get it right the past week.”

Rumors had suggested that Rumble CEO, Chris Pavloviski, was interested in acquiring the platform, especially after he posted a message on X prior to the site’s announcement of discussions with potential acquirers:

“Hi @StreamElements, just sent you a DM.”

These rumors appear to have been dispelled, as Zach reports that the owners of Kick, Rumble, and Twitch have been excluded as potential partners.

In related news, Twitch rival DLive has announced it will be ceasing operations.
