“The Boys” Teases Fans with First Look at Season 5 at San Diego Comic Con
After the buzz surrounding the upcoming fifth season of “Gen V” at San Diego Comic Con, “The Boys” couldn’t resist stealing the spotlight with a surprise teaser for their own highly anticipated fifth and final season. Fans in Ballroom 20 were treated to a sneak peek filled with the trademark superhero violence and gore that has made “The Boys” a fan favorite, along with glimpses of new and returning cast members.
The teaser didn’t hold back, showcasing intense action sequences including a new supe character vomiting up a bloody hairball and a violent explosion in a bathroom stall. The teaser also featured familiar faces like executive producer Seth Rogen, as well as newcomers Jared Padalecki and Misha Collins, both known for their roles in “Supernatural.”
Showrunner Eric Kripke, known for creating “Supernatural,” has already brought “Supernatural” stars Jensen Ackles and Jeffrey Dean Morgan to “The Boys,” and now Padalecki and Collins join the cast, fulfilling the wishes of fans who have been eager for more crossovers between the two shows.
One of the standout moments in the teaser was Antony Starr’s Homelander declaring a “safer, more god-fearing nation,” hinting at the dark turn the series will take as Homelander gains more power and control over the country. With martial law in effect and the Boys and other supes facing off against Homelander, the stakes are higher than ever.
As the teaser hinted at a crossover with “Gen V,” fans spotted London Thor from the upcoming series, adding to the excitement of the interconnected universe between the two shows. With familiar faces like Erin Moriarty and Chace Crawford appearing in “Gen V” Season 2, the crossover between the two series continues to grow.
