The shocking discovery of a woman’s body stuffed in a suitcase and dumped on Long Island has led to the arrest of a suspect, Ronald Schroeder, 31. Authorities revealed that Schroeder was found with date rape and other illegal drugs on him when he was apprehended at New York’s Penn Station last Friday. The victim, Seikeya Jones, 31, was found deceased in the suitcase near an apartment complex in Huntington, sparking a grim investigation.

Schroeder faces charges of concealing a human corpse in connection to Jones’ death. The decaying remains of Jones were found in the fetal position with black cords wrapped around her wrists. A bungee cord was also discovered strapped around the suitcase where her body was concealed. The victim, a mother of a 4-year-old son, had been reported missing by her family on August 16. Surveillance footage captured her last moments walking through the Huntington Station building before her tragic demise.

Police are still investigating the timeline of events leading up to the discovery of Jones’ body and the circumstances surrounding her death. Autopsy results to determine the official cause of death are pending release from the Suffolk County Medical Examiner’s Office. Jones had been facing challenges with homelessness and mental health issues prior to her disappearance, according to her family.

Schroeder, the suspected perpetrator, remains in custody without bond at the Suffolk County jail following his arrest. He waived his right to appear in person for his arraignment, citing illness as the reason. His legal representation informed the court of his inability to attend the hearing. Schroeder is scheduled to appear in court again on Thursday as the investigation into Jones’ tragic death continues to unfold.
