Chicago Police Seek Six-Person Robbery Crew After Jewelry Store Heist

Chicago police are on the lookout for a group of six individuals involved in a brazen armed robbery at a jewelry store in West Rogers Park. The incident took place on Sunday evening, where the suspects handcuffed and disarmed a security guard, smashed display cases, and made off with valuable jewelry, according to authorities.

The robbery occurred at a jewelry store located in the 2600 block of West Devon Avenue at around 7:23 p.m. The perpetrators, armed with at least one handgun, entered the store and proceeded to steal merchandise from the display cases before fleeing the scene in a white SUV and a black SUV, as reported by the Chicago Police Department.

Upon investigation, it was revealed that the robbers had used hammers to shatter the display cases inside Regal Jewels at 2625 West Devon Avenue. The exact value of the stolen jewelry has not been disclosed at this time.

Surveillance footage reviewed by law enforcement indicated that the six suspects, comprising five males and one female of unspecified race, were dressed in dark clothing. Some members of the group were noted to be wearing white shoes, green military-style vests, and one individual even had a gas mask on during the robbery.

During the heist, one of the suspects brandished a handgun, overpowering the store’s security officer and confiscating his firearm before leaving him restrained inside the premises, according to initial reports.

Authorities are now on the lookout for two vehicles believed to be the getaway cars used by the suspects. The first vehicle is described as a white Dodge Durango with black rims and tinted windows, while the second vehicle is suspected to be a black SUV, possibly an Audi. Both vehicles were last seen heading northbound on Talman Avenue following the robbery.
