Netflix stole the show at Annecy with their presentation titled Next on Netflix Animation: From “Stranger Things” to “In Your Dreams.” The event, held at Bonlieu, was packed with eager fans as showrunner Eric Robles introduced the animated spinoff “Stranger Things: Tales From ‘85,” a captivating blend of nostalgia and supernatural intrigue.
The official synopsis for the series reads: “Welcome back to Hawkins in the stark winter of 1985, where the original characters must fight new monsters and unravel a paranormal mystery terrorizing their town in Stranger Things: Tales From ’85, an epic new animated series.”
Animated by Australian studio Flying Bark, the show is being executive produced by “Stranger Things” creators Matt and Ross Duffer, along with Shawn Levy, Dan Cohen, Eric Robles, and Hilary Leavitt. Fans can expect a thrilling continuation of the beloved story with this new animated series.
Also showcased at the event was “In Your Dreams,” directed by Alex Woo, with production designer Steve Pilcher and VFX Supervisor Nicola Lavender revealing an exciting sneak peek of the upcoming feature film set for release later this year.
“In Your Dreams” is a surreal comedy adventure following siblings Stevie and Elliot as they navigate through bizarre dreamscapes. From sarcastic giraffes to breakfast zombies, the duo must overcome various challenges to find the dream of a perfect family. The film, directed by Woo and co-directed by Erik Benson, is produced by Kuku Studios and features a stellar cast including Craig Robinson, Simu Liu, and Cristin Milioti. Fans can mark their calendars for the release date on November 11, 2025.
