Taylor Swift may have achieved global stardom, but she’s not interested in interstellar travel — in fact, the concept terrifies her.
During an interview with BBC Radio 2’s Scott Mills on October 6, Swift was questioned about the possibility of following in the footsteps of her former rival Katy Perry and embarking on a journey to space. Earlier this year, Mills had asked Mariah Carey the same question, prompting her to famously respond with “I’ve done enough” — however, Swift had a much more animated reaction.
“Absolutely not!” she replied, clearly shocked. “Why would I do that? There’s really no reason to. I never want to… oh my God, no!”
She continued, “It’s chilly, it’s terrifying, and I can’t be sure I’d return. If I go, nobody would believe I even went. It doesn’t matter if you go, because people will think it’s fabricated, or they’ll have some bizarre interpretation of it. I have no interest whatsoever.”
Expressing gratitude, she added, “But thank you for asking! I don’t know why I completely lost it; it felt like you were going to send me there.”
The conclusion is clear — Taylor Swift has no intention of exploring space. Fans can forget about the idea of an album titled Life of a Spacewoman or Tortured Astronauts Department, and those Martians hoping for an Eras tour on their planet will ultimately be let down.

In this interview promoting her latest album, The Life of a Showgirl, Swift surprised Mills by presenting him with a homemade loaf of lemon and blueberry sourdough bread, inspired by remarks made by her good friend Zoe Kravitz, who praised Swift’s baking skills during a previous guest appearance.
Additionally, she dismissed fan theories suggesting she might retire from music following her upcoming marriage to fiancé Travis Kelce. “That’s incredibly offensive,” she asserted. “People don’t marry to abandon their careers. My connection with him is rooted in the respect he has for my passion and my joy in crafting music and art.”
Swift elaborated, “What’s really amazing about Travis is that he has such a strong passion for his work. That’s what connects us; he supports my passion, and I adore that I can be fulfilled through creating music.”
Swift also shared insights about her relationship with Kelce, 36, noting that their careers, despite being vastly different, share some common threads. “It’s incredibly enjoyable to cheer each other on, and while our professions are at opposite ends of the spectrum,” she explained, “we both entertain for three and a half hours in massive venues. For him, it’s game day; for me, it’s showtime. We just refer to them differently, but our experiences are strikingly similar.”
Regarding wedding plans, Swift mentioned that the couple, who announced their engagement in August, are currently focusing on her album promotion before diving into the details of their future wedding.
As long as Kelce isn’t dreaming of a moonlit wedding, all seems well.
