As a K–12 Reading Specialist, award-winning educator, instructional coach, SEL facilitator, mentor, and author of eight books, she is dedicated to helping students realize their potential and equipping teachers with the tools to make a lasting difference.

We invited Fenyx to share her insights and priorities in developing educational resources.
What principles guide you when developing educational resources?
I always remember that students attend school for more than just worksheets. They seek experiences, relationships, and memories that honor their identities and linger long after the lesson concludes. I design activities that resonate with students’ backgrounds, experiences, and interests, ensuring learning is engaging, meaningful, and enjoyable. If a child eagerly shares a story about their school day instead of saying “Nothing,” then I know I’ve crafted something memorable.
What can teachers anticipate when using your resources?
I see myself as a super co-teacher when I create resources. Each resource I develop is grounded in real classroom experience and aims to assist both teachers and students. Teachers can expect lessons that are engaging, meaningful, and easy to execute because I believe learning should be memorable, not just manageable. My aim is to help teachers reduce planning time and focus more on creating classroom experiences that students will discuss when they get home. Consider me your classroom ally who never takes your favorite Expo marker.
