South African producer Kutlwano Ditsele’s Ten30 Pictures is gearing up to launch a series of new projects following the debut of the Netflix original series “GO!,” set to premiere globally on March 21.

In an interview with Variety in Johannesburg, where the show’s premiere will take place on March 16, Ditsele expressed his vision for Ten30 Pictures to become “the A24 of Africa.” He emphasized the importance of creating unique storytelling that sets their content apart from existing narratives, with a focus on discovering and supporting emerging filmmakers across the country.

“GO!” follows the story of Siya “Bolt” Gumede, a young sprinter who receives a life-changing scholarship to a prestigious school in Johannesburg. The series delves into the complexities of success, both on and off the track, as Siya navigates challenges from his past. Created by Ditsele and head writer Thuli Zuma, known for her work on the Showmax original “The Wife,” the show is directed by Tristan Holmes, an Academy Award winner for his student film “Elalini.”

After a brief hiatus from television production, Ditsele returned with a fresh approach, aiming to establish ownership and creative control over Ten30 Pictures. By securing private investors rather than relying on traditional commissioning models, Ditsele was able to maintain autonomy over his projects. The success of “GO!” led to a lucrative deal with Netflix, propelling the company towards a $13.7 million funding round to expand its operations.

Among the upcoming projects in Ten30’s slate are the medical drama “Clinical” and the road drama “Imbali ne iNkabi,” along with a second season of “GO!” Ditsele envisions a catalog of 30 titles within the next decade, seeking out filmmakers willing to take creative risks and explore unconventional storytelling.

Drawing inspiration from independent powerhouse A24, Ditsele aims to champion diverse voices and narratives that may have been overlooked by traditional networks. His collaboration with U.S. studios on a forthcoming project highlights his ambition to engage with the global entertainment industry, tapping into larger budgets and broader audiences.

As Ten30 Pictures continues to carve out its niche in the industry, Ditsele remains committed to producing compelling and innovative content. The Joburg Film Festival, running from March 11 to 16, serves as a platform for showcasing the creativity and talent emerging from South Africa’s vibrant film scene. The world of technology is constantly evolving, and with each passing day, new innovations are introduced that make our lives easier and more efficient. One such innovation that has taken the world by storm is artificial intelligence (AI). AI has the ability to mimic human intelligence and perform tasks that would normally require human intervention. From virtual assistants like Siri and Alexa to self-driving cars, AI is revolutionizing the way we live and work.

One of the most exciting applications of AI is in the field of healthcare. AI has the potential to revolutionize the way we diagnose and treat diseases, making healthcare more personalized and efficient. For example, AI-powered medical imaging tools can analyze medical images such as X-rays and MRIs to detect abnormalities and help doctors make more accurate diagnoses. This can lead to earlier detection of diseases and improved patient outcomes.

In addition to diagnosis, AI is also being used to develop personalized treatment plans for patients. By analyzing a patient’s genetic makeup and medical history, AI can recommend the most effective treatment options tailored to their individual needs. This can lead to better treatment outcomes and reduced side effects.

AI is also being used to improve the efficiency of healthcare systems. For example, AI-powered chatbots can assist patients with scheduling appointments, answering medical questions, and even providing virtual consultations. This can help reduce wait times, improve access to care, and streamline the healthcare process.

Overall, the potential of AI in healthcare is vast. By harnessing the power of AI, we can improve patient outcomes, reduce healthcare costs, and make healthcare more accessible to all. As AI continues to advance, we can expect to see even more exciting innovations in the field of healthcare that will revolutionize the way we live and work.
