A heroic house painter in Tennessee played a crucial role in the capture of quadruple murder suspect Austin Drummond after spotting him lurking in the woods. Ricardo Contreras, who was working on a house in Jackson with his crew, noticed a suspicious figure in the woods near the property. Despite initially thinking it was an animal, Contreras realized it could be the wanted fugitive Drummond, who was being hunted by police for the brutal murder of a family.

Without hesitation, Contreras called the authorities to report the man in the woods, leading to Drummond’s swift arrest just 15 minutes later. Contreras emphasized that he was simply trying to do the right thing and assist in the capture of a dangerous criminal. He expressed relief that Drummond was off the streets, providing a sense of security for his family and the community.

Drummond had been on the run for a week after allegedly killing Matthew Wilson, Adrianna Williams, Braydon Williams, and Cortney Rose in a heinous crime. The motive behind the murders remains unclear, but authorities believe it was not a random act of violence. Drummond was also seen on surveillance footage attempting to enter a building in Jackson, armed with a rifle and dressed in camouflage attire.

In addition to Drummond’s arrest, three suspected associates, Derrah Sanders, Tanaka Brown, and Giovonti Thomas, were also apprehended. They face charges of accessory after the fact to first-degree murder, with Brown facing an additional charge for tampering with evidence. Drummond, a convicted felon released from prison in 2024, now faces a slew of charges including first-degree murder, aggravated kidnapping, and illegal possession of a firearm.

The community is grateful for Contreras’ quick thinking and willingness to assist law enforcement in capturing a dangerous criminal. Despite the $37,000 reward offered for information leading to Drummond’s arrest, Contreras stated that he was not motivated by money but rather by a desire to ensure the safety of his family and neighbors. Drummond’s arrest brings closure to a tragic chapter in the community’s history and serves as a reminder of the importance of community vigilance in keeping neighborhoods safe.
