The Golden Bachelor Gerry Turner has proposed to his girlfriend, Lana Sutton, and they are engaged!
On Friday, October 3, the 73-year-old Turner shared the exciting news through an Instagram announcement. The post showcased several selfies of the couple, with Sutton displaying a stunning engagement ring.
“We’ve got BIG news!” the caption of the post read. “The Golden Bachelor is officially OFF the market. I found my perfect match, and she said ‘YES’. I love this woman.”
Commenters flooded the post with congratulations for the happy couple.
“👏👏 So happy for both of you! Excellent choice, Gerry! 😍” commented one follower, while another wrote, “Congratulations! You both look so happy! What a stunning ring she has! 👏💍”
In April, Turner revealed the identity of his new girlfriend during a TMZ interview. He explained that Sutton reached out to him through direct messages on social media.
Interestingly, Turner almost missed his chance with Sutton after ignoring her first message. Fortunately, she reached out again and shared that she grew up in a town just 20 minutes away from him, which piqued his interest.
“We see each other every weekend,” Gerry shared with People back in April. “She’s retired, so she’s flexible. She can come to see me or vice versa on short notice. There are no work commitments holding her back, which has been a big advantage for us.”

Before publicly disclosing Sutton’s identity, Turner confirmed he was in a new relationship during an episode of the “Bachelor Happy Hour” podcast in April, stating he was dating someone new.
This newfound romance follows Turner’s divorce from Theresa Nist. (Turner and Nist met on season 1 of The Golden Bachelor, got engaged in November 2023, married in January 2024, and filed for divorce in April 2024.)
“I am dating someone now,” Turner mentioned on the podcast. “Things seem to be going well, but I don’t want to say too much and risk jinxing it. I’m trying to be respectful and give it the time it deserves after my divorce. Perhaps that’s an old-fashioned perspective, but I want to take it slow.”
Turner shared that he felt an immediate connection with Sutton upon meeting her.
“I hate to admit this, knowing I’ll catch flak for it, but it was almost instantaneous. The moment I first laid eyes on her, there was a connection from the look she gave me,” he recalled. “I was overwhelmed by this feeling but tried to dismiss it. With each meeting, that sensation returned, and I thought, ‘Wow, this is truly remarkable!’”
Nist, 72, informed Us Weekly in April that Turner had told her about his new relationship prior to it being made public. “He said, ‘I want to let you know I’ve met someone,’ and I responded, ‘That’s wonderful! I’m truly happy for you.’ He expressed he was apprehensive to tell me, but I reassured him that all I wish for is his happiness. If this was the way it was meant to happen for him, then it was all for the better.
