During his testimony before Congress, Bill revealed that his acquaintance with Epstein began through an introduction by Larry Summers, his former Treasury Secretary.
He explained, “Larry was reaching out because Jeffrey Epstein, who had pledged several million dollars for brain research, was eager for information. He wanted to discuss economics and politics with me,” referencing the work at Harvard University.
Bill further stated, “He mentioned having a large airplane, offering to transport me, my staff, my Secret Service detail, and anyone else on trips. He knew I was establishing a global network to deliver lifesaving AIDS medication to as many people as possible, as quickly as possible.”
When questioned about Epstein’s behavior, Bill commented that he never witnessed the late child s– trafficker “do anything [he] was suspicious of,” although he did find Epstein “odd.”
He elaborated, “I felt friendly toward him, but as I noted in my book, he was odd. There was always a sense of reservation, and I noticed it.”
Their initial meeting reportedly occurred when Bill boarded Epstein’s plane around 2002. However, he acknowledged a photograph depicting him and Epstein at the White House in 1993, which also included Hillary.
According to Bill, the early 1990s interaction was a standard meet-and-greet with donors.
