The battle for control of the House of Representatives is heating up in New York, with several key swing districts in or near the Hudson Valley. The issues at the forefront of these races include the Harris-Biden illegal-migrant crisis, rising crime rates, and taxes.

In these crucial districts, endorsing Republican candidates is a clear choice for a variety of reasons. The current GOP House has already passed a strong border-control bill that the Democratic Senate refused to consider. On the other hand, Democratic majorities tend to favor policies that appease the party’s progressive wing, rather than prioritize effective border control.

Crime is a pressing issue in these districts, with Democrats often downplaying its significance. New York Democrats have implemented policies like no-bail and Raise the Age laws, which have led to a spike in crime since 2019. Additionally, Democratic majorities typically push for tax increases, affecting not just the wealthy but all taxpayers. New York Republicans have been working to ease the SALT deduction, providing relief to residents impacted by the 2017 tax law changes.

Democratic candidates have been spreading misinformation about their GOP opponents, particularly regarding abortion. It’s important to note that any national abortion legislation is unlikely to pass Congress, and Republican candidates have made clear their opposition to such measures.

In NY-17, Rep. Michael Lawler has a record of bipartisan leadership, passing multiple bills that have been signed into law by President Biden. His opponent, progressive ex-Rep. Mondaire Jones, has aligned with far-left policies on issues like defunding the police and immigration.

In NY-18, Republican Alison Esposito, a former NYPD deputy inspector, is campaigning on a platform of law and order and border security. Her opponent, Rep. Pat Ryan, has a track record of voting against aid to Israel and has supported policies that undermine border security.

In NY-19, Rep. Marc Molinaro, a proven bipartisan leader with deep roots in the district, is facing off against Democrat Josh Riley. Riley has a history of supporting open border policies and has ties to far-left organizations like the Working Families Party.

Overall, the choice is clear in these New York swing districts. Republican candidates offer a platform of effective border control, law and order, and responsible tax policies, making them the best choice for voters concerned about the direction of the country. It’s essential to look beyond the misleading attacks and focus on the issues that truly matter in these critical races.
