Netflix’s hit show “Stranger Things” is making waves once again with the release of its fifth and final season. The first four episodes premiered to an impressive 59.6 million views in the first five days of streaming. While viewership did decrease to 23.6 million views, Season 5 still managed to hold the top spot as the most-watched TV title for the week of Dec. 1-7. What’s even more impressive is that all four previous seasons of the show also made it to the Netflix Top 10, with a combined total of 26.2 million views. This indicates that Season 5 is not only attracting loyal fans but also bringing in new viewers to the franchise.
In second place on Netflix’s list for the same week was “Sean Combs: The Reckoning,” a docuseries that garnered 21.8 million views in just six days. The series has sparked controversy, with Diddy himself issuing a cease-and-desist letter claiming that Netflix and executive producer Curtis “50 Cent” Jackson used stolen footage. Despite the drama, the show continues to generate buzz and draw in viewers.
As the holiday season approaches, Christmas movies are starting to dominate the Netflix Top 10. “My Secret Santa” took the top spot with 18.1 million views, followed by “Jingle Bell Heist” with 10.4 million views in its second week of streaming.
With “Stranger Things” occupying five spots on the list, there were only five remaining spots for English-language TV shows. Other titles that made the cut included Season 1 of “The Abandons,” “The Rats: A Witcher Tale,” “The Beast in Me,” and “Matt Rife: Unwrapped — A Christmas Crowd Work Special.”
It’s clear that Netflix is delivering a diverse range of content to cater to all viewers’ preferences. Stay tuned for more updates on the latest trending shows and movies on the streaming platform.
