The Rubin Museum of Himalayan Art has announced the opening of the 2026 grant cycle on February 16. Artists, creatives, and scholars are encouraged to submit a letter of intent by March 6 to be considered for funding.

Since launching the annual grant program in 2024, the Rubin has supported 32 projects worldwide with grants ranging from $3,000 to $25,000. The grants are divided into two categories: Rubin x Research for scholars advancing Himalayan art research, and Rubin x Art Projects for artists showcasing the cultural legacy and living traditions of the Himalayan region.

Projects that have received grants in the past include a conservation training program in Mongolia, documentation of historic art in Bhutan and Nepal, research on Tibetan Buddhist objects in India, visual art teaching resources for educators, and multimedia installations exploring Tibetan Buddhist concepts.

To apply for the 2026 grant cycle, interested parties must submit a letter of inquiry between February 16 and March 6. For more information and to submit an inquiry, visit the Rubin Museum’s official website at rubinmuseum.org/grants.

This opportunity provides a platform for individuals to contribute to the preservation and promotion of Himalayan art and culture. Don’t miss the chance to be part of this impactful initiative.
