AMC has decided not to continue “Talamasca: The Secret Order” beyond its inaugural season, Variety reports exclusively.

An AMC spokesperson expressed appreciation for the team behind the series, stating to Variety, “While we will not be moving forward with another season of ‘Talamasca: The Secret Order,’ we are proud of the series and grateful for the efforts of everyone involved. The Talamasca holds a significant position in the Anne Rice Immortal Universe, and we anticipate seeing some of these characters and the organization in future franchise developments.”

This cancellation is a first for AMC within the Anne Rice Immortal Universe. The network secured the rights to Rice’s works in 2020 and has since introduced “Interview with the Vampire” and “Mayfair Witches,” alongside “Talamasca.”

“Interview with the Vampire,” now rebranded as “The Vampire Lestat,” is set to return for its third season on June 7. Meanwhile, “Mayfair Witches” is expected to premiere its third season in early 2027.

“Talamasca” premiered its six-episode first season in October 2025, with the series concluding in late November. The cast was led by Nicholas Denton and included Elizabeth McGovern, William Fichtner, Maisie Richardson-Sellers, and Celine Buckens. Jason Schwartzman made a guest appearance, while Eric Bogosian and Justin Kirk reprised their roles from “Interview with the Vampire.”

According to the show’s official description, the storyline centered on Guy Anatole (played by Denton), who, as he nears law school graduation, is contacted by the Talamasca, a clandestine agency overseeing the supernatural realm. Upon discovering the agency has monitored him since childhood, Guy is thrust into a world of secret agents and immortal beings, maintaining a delicate balance with humanity.

“Talamasca” drew inspiration from “The Vampire Chronicles” and “The Lives of the Mayfair Witches.” John Lee Hancock developed the series, serving as executive producer and co-showrunner alongside Mark Lafferty. Mark Johnson, responsible for AMC’s Immortal Universe, was also an executive producer, along with Tom Williams, Christopher Rice, and the late Anne Rice. Hancock additionally directed the series.
