Fortnite and “The Simpsons” Collab Launches with Exciting Season
The highly anticipated collaboration between Fortnite and “The Simpsons” has finally arrived, kicking off with a month-long season. The two iconic worlds collide as Fortnite introduces an 80-player “Springfield Island,” offering a fast-paced Battle Royale experience for players.
Throughout the month of November, players can expect different gameplay experiences inspired by “The Simpsons.” The themed “Springfield Battle Pass” includes outfits based on characters like Homer, Marge, and Ned Flanders, as well as unique versions of popular Fortnite characters like Blinky Fishstick and Springfielder Peely. Fans can also look forward to alternate versions of these skins, such as Evil Homer and Witch Marge from the “Treehouse of Horror.”
One of the highlights of the battle pass is the introduction of Fortnite’s new “Sidekicks,” starting with Peels. This exclusive sidekick can be unlocked in the Springfield battle pass and will be available until more sidekicks are introduced on November 7 in the shop.
The cel-shaded “Springfield Island” features iconic locations from “The Simpsons” universe, including Krusty Burger, the Kwik-E-Mart, Moe’s Tavern, the Springfield Nuclear Power Plant, Mr. Burns’ mansion, and the Simpsons’ home.
As part of the collaboration, four original “Simpsons” shorts will premiere weekly, starting on November 1. These shorts will serve as a sneak peek into the gameplay narrative and map updates for the week. Fans can catch these shorts on Fortnite’s social channels, in the “quests” tab under “animated shorts,” and on Disney+. The episodes, co-produced by Epic Games and Gracie Films, are titled “Apocalypse D’oh,” “Sugar High,” “Multiplidiocy,” and “The Incredible Bulk.”
For fans of Rocket League, a limited-time event featuring “The Simpsons” will include challenges that unlock in-game rewards. Players can enjoy driving around Springfield and unlocking items like the Blinky Topper, Homer’s Hedges Player Banner, Waste Wheels, and more. Additionally, completing an unlimited challenge will award 20,000 XP each time.
Coordinating with the launch of Fortnite x “The Simpsons,” this Sunday’s episode of “The Simpsons” will feature a special nod to Fortnite, promising an exciting crossover moment for fans.
It’s worth noting that Disney, the owner of “The Simpsons,” made a significant investment of $1.5 billion in Epic Games last year. This partnership aims to create a vast universe within Fortnite that includes Disney, Pixar, Marvel, “Star Wars,” “Avatar,” and other beloved franchises. The project is powered by Epic Games’ Unreal Engine, promising an immersive and engaging experience for players.
