“The Studio” Celebrates Golden Globe Wins and Teases Season 2 Beginnings
Fresh off its big wins at the Golden Globes, the hit TV series “The Studio” is gearing up for the start of filming for Season 2. Seth Rogen, star and executive producer of the show, shared the exciting news with the press backstage at the awards ceremony.
The recent episode of Season 1 that took place at the Golden Globes made the experience even more surreal for the cast and crew as they watched the show pick up multiple awards. Rogen hinted that Season 2 might revisit the Globes, with events from the evening potentially inspiring storylines for the upcoming season.
“We’ve incorporated some of the events leading up to the award show into our scripts as we’ve been writing the show. We start shooting in a week, so you’ll see some familiar moments play out on screen,” Rogen revealed.
The success of “The Studio” has attracted attention from industry heavyweights, with Rogen mentioning that several people approached him during the Globes, expressing interest in making cameo appearances in Season 2.
“It’s been amazing to see so many people eager to be a part of our show. Even top studio executives like Tom Rothman from Sony are keen to get involved. It’s great to see such enthusiasm,” Rogen shared.
The appearance of Netflix co-CEO Ted Sarandos in Season 1 set a precedent for industry figures making guest appearances on the show. Rogen joked, “Ted set the bar high, but we’ve already roped in a few more after tonight. This is a great opportunity for us to bring in some fresh faces.”
In addition to winning the Golden Globe for best comedy/musical series, Rogen also took home the award for best actor in a TV comedy. The show’s success at the Emmys last September further solidified its place in TV history, setting records for most wins by a comedy series and individual in one night.
Filming for Season 2 of “The Studio” is set to begin in Los Angeles, with the production receiving substantial tax credits for its location. While the exact premiere date for Season 2 on Apple TV is still uncertain, fans can look forward to the return of Rogen, Catherine O’Hara, Kathryn Hahn, Ike Barinholtz, and Chase Sui Wonders on screen.
With three Golden Globe nominations this year and a promising start to Season 2, “The Studio” continues to captivate audiences with its unique blend of comedy and drama. Stay tuned for more updates on this award-winning series.
