Actor James Ransone, known for his roles in “The Wire” and “It: Chapter Two,” passed away at the age of 46. The Los Angeles County Medical Examiner confirmed that his death was an apparent suicide. Police investigated the scene and ruled out foul play, as reported by TMZ.

Born in Baltimore, Ransone studied at the School of Visual Arts in New York City before pursuing a career in acting and music. His breakthrough role was Ziggy Sobotka in “The Wire,” where he received acclaim for his portrayal of the character.

Ransone also appeared in “Generation Kill,” “Tangerine,” “It: Chapter Two,” “Sinister,” and “The Black Phone.” He aimed to challenge himself creatively without worrying about external judgment, as he mentioned in an interview with Interview magazine.

Fans of Ransone expressed their grief and appreciation for his work on social media. Colleagues like François Arnaud and author Joe Hill paid tribute to his talent and kind personality. Hill also shared Ransone’s struggles with childhood trauma and addiction in a heartfelt post.
