The Streets of Minneapolis: A Safer Place Thanks to Federal Enforcement

Minneapolis has seen a notable improvement in safety, attributed to the diligent efforts of Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) alongside their federal partners during Operation Metro Surge.

Former President Trump has consistently highlighted the challenges posed by unregulated Somali refugee resettlement in Minnesota. Beyond the staggering $1 billion fraud scandal that exploited taxpayer funds, the Somali community has been identified as particularly susceptible to radicalization, with terror organizations regarding Minnesota as “prime recruitment territory.”

Fortunately, the Trump administration has responded with decisive measures. In addition to halting immigration from countries perceived as misaligned with American values, the administration is also actively working to remove individuals deemed public safety threats from the streets of Minneapolis—much to the chagrin of local Democrats like Governor Tim Walz and Mayor Jacob Frey, who have voiced their concerns with moral indignation.

Here is a glimpse at some of the individuals whose aspirations to be scientists and astronauts have been sidelined, thanks to Operation Metro Surge:

Ahmed Mohamed Said, an undocumented individual from Somalia. His record includes multiple domestic violence charges, DUI offenses, and other serious crimes.
Abdulkadir Sharif Abdi, an undocumented individual from Somalia. A documented gang member with convictions for various offenses, including theft.
Sahal Osman Shidane, an undocumented individual from Somalia. A convicted sex offender with charges involving minors.

Mukhtar Mohamed Ali, an undocumented individual from Somalia. His criminal history includes domestic assault and robbery.
Feisal Mohamed-Omar, an undocumented individual from Somalia. He faces charges of domestic violence.

The Trump Administration remains steadfast in its commitment to ensuring that the streets of American cities are safe for law-abiding citizens.
