Stéphanie Kilgast, known for her innovative and eco-conscious art, continues to push boundaries with her latest solo exhibition, “LUSCIOUS LEGACY” at Arch Enemy Arts. In this exhibition, Kilgast showcases her talent for creating unique habitats for various creatures using a variety of materials, from crunched single-use containers to thrifted boxes and repurposed clocks.

One standout piece from the exhibition is “Weevil Wander,” where fungi takes root along the sides of a green bottle while a beetle crawls over the cap. Another striking piece features a violet owl perched on top of a pair of binoculars. These artworks not only showcase Kilgast’s creativity and attention to detail but also highlight her concern for the environment and the impact of human activities on delicate ecosystems.

Kilgast’s work often elicits contrasting emotions, combining the joy of color and natural beauty with the sadness and despair of the current environmental crisis. Through her art, she aims to spark conversations about mass consumerism and the resulting waste that threatens wildlife and habitats worldwide. Despite the grim reality, Kilgast remains optimistic about nature’s resilience and believes that it is worth fighting for.

The exhibition “LUSCIOUS LEGACY” runs through October 27 in Philadelphia, offering viewers a chance to experience Kilgast’s thought-provoking art in person. For more information about the artist and her work, visit her website and follow her on Instagram.

Kilgast’s unique art pieces, such as “Chi Va Piano” on a reclaimed clock and “Stare (Eurasian Eagle Owl)” on reclaimed binoculars, showcase her talent for transforming everyday objects into whimsical and enchanting creations. Each piece tells a story and invites viewers to reflect on their own relationship with the environment and the importance of preserving nature for future generations.
