Some of the afternoon storms could be severe, bringing hail up to 2 inches in diameter and damaging winds. The main impact is expected across the plains, according to the weather service.
The storms and windy conditions are likely to persist into Sunday night.
Scattered showers and thunderstorms are forecasted for Monday and Tuesday, followed by a heatwave with temperatures soaring into the triple digits on Wednesday, as per the weather service’s predictions.
