A woman, aged 83, was discovered deceased inside her vehicle at a long-term parking facility at John F. Kennedy International Airport on Thursday afternoon, as reported by law enforcement and sources close to the situation.

According to the Port Authority police, they received notification of an unresponsive woman in her car at long-term parking lot 9, located near Aqueduct Road and Lefferts Boulevard in Jamaica, at approximately 2:10 p.m.

The aging woman was confirmed deceased at the scene. Authorities were called in after she was noticed in her car, remaining in the same position as earlier that day, sources indicated.

Images from the crime scene depict a body covered with a white sheet next to an open door of a white vehicle.

Emergency Medical Services (EMS) were dispatched to the location after officers broke the window of the car and made the unsettling find, according to police and sources.

Sources have revealed that the woman’s vehicle was last observed running on September 30.

While a segment of the parking facility remains cordoned off, there have been no consequences to airport activities or traffic in the vicinity, according to police.

Details regarding the woman’s identity are still pending.

The medical examiner will assess the cause of her death.
