Gabriela de los Ángeles Sanarrusia Chavarría, a popular TikTok lifestyle influencer, has reportedly passed away.
According to the Argentine news outlet La Nación, which cited Costa Rican authorities, Chavarría was fatally shot on Saturday, July 4, while she was asleep next to her boyfriend in their home in La Cruz, Costa Rica. She was 28 years old.
The report also mentioned that her boyfriend, Jose Isaac Agüero, 30, was killed during the incident. It is alleged that multiple intruders broke into their home and shot both individuals. Chavarría had gained over 100,000 followers on Instagram and TikTok.
As detailed in a report by People, published on Monday, July 6, local authorities informed La Nación that the suspects fled the scene and allegedly set a white vehicle on fire. The authorities believe the shootings were motivated by retribution, although the official motive is still under investigation, according to People.
La Nación also reported that an ex-partner of Chavarría was killed two years ago in the same suburb.
Chavarría was well-known for sharing travel content and frequently featured her 9-year-old daughter in her posts. Her last TikTok video showed her cuddling with her daughter, accompanied by the caption, “When did you grow up so much, my baby.”
Her daughter was also included in Chavarría’s final Instagram post, along with Agüero. The three posed for a professional photo shoot against a lavish floral backdrop, with both mother and daughter wearing sparkling tiaras.
One of the final images posted on June 29 showed Chavarría in lingerie, seated on a throne, while Agüero held one of her legs and gazed into her eyes.
The death of Chavarría follows another shocking incident involving influencers. NBC Miami reported on Tuesday, July 7, that South Florida-based TikToker Brianna Johnson, known as “ItGirlBri,” died in a drive-by shooting in Miramar, Florida, two days earlier.
The social media influencer was reportedly leaving an Airbnb party in a lime green Lamborghini when the vehicle was shot at by a white BMW. The 21-year-old was taken to the hospital by rescue teams but did not survive, while two other victims remained hospitalized.
Johnson, also known as “dreamdoll_bri” on Instagram, had gained over 380,000 followers on TikTok, building her fame through engaging lifestyle content.
