Remembering Anna Grace Phelan: A Community Mourns the Loss of a Brave Fighter
Residents of Jackson County, Georgia are reeling from the loss of Anna Grace Phelan, a young influencer who documented her battle with brain cancer on TikTok. The 19-year-old’s funeral service is scheduled for Thursday, May 29 at Galilee Christian Church, where she will be laid to rest at the church cemetery.
Survived by her parents, William ‘Buddy’ Phelan and Nadine Phelan, as well as her brother, Harper David Phelan, Anna leaves behind a family and community that rallied around her during her fight against glioblastoma, an aggressive form of brain cancer.
Anna first shared her diagnosis in September, just days before she was supposed to start her first year of college. What started as seemingly minor symptoms – a numb face and leg, balance issues, and vision problems – quickly escalated into a devastating prognosis. An MRI revealed a lesion on her brain, marking the beginning of a difficult journey.
In a poignant TikTok video, Anna opened up about her struggles with the disease. “My head’s very foggy,” she shared. “I started losing my balance. I started having vision problems in my left eye. My speech started to seem weird. This is definitely the hardest news I’ve ever received.”
The community has been deeply moved by Anna’s story, coming together to support her and her family through this challenging time. Her bravery and resilience in the face of such a devastating illness have left a lasting impact on all who knew her.
As we prepare to say goodbye to Anna, we remember her as a fighter, a source of inspiration, and a beloved member of our community. May her memory live on in the hearts of all who were touched by her story.
