Thief Returns Stolen Mandolins with Boozy Apology Note

A thief in New Jersey made a bold move when he stole two mandolins from a local music store, only to return them days later with a handwritten note of apology. The incident took place at Lark Street Music in Teaneck, where the tipsy culprit swiped the instruments and later felt remorseful enough to bring them back.

The owner of the store shared on Facebook that the stolen mandolins were dropped off at the shop on a Friday afternoon, along with a note that read, “Sorry, I been drunk, Merry Christmas.” The thief also added, “You are a good man” in the hastily scribbled apology note.

Earlier in the week, the store owner had posted surveillance footage of the theft online, which quickly gained attention and put pressure on the suspect to return the stolen items. The viral post ultimately led to the thief’s change of heart and the return of the mandolins.

Despite the thief’s repentant actions, it remains unclear whether he has been apprehended by authorities. The Teaneck Police Department has not provided any updates on the case, and the store owner has not been available for comment.

The return of the stolen mandolins was a surprising turn of events, with the store owner recounting the moment when the thief brought back the instruments in shopping bags and then fled the scene. Despite the owner’s efforts to chase after the culprit, he was unable to catch him, leading to a call to 911 for assistance.

Overall, the bizarre incident of the stolen mandolins and the thief’s boozy apology note has captivated social media users and local residents alike. The story serves as a reminder that even in moments of wrongdoing, redemption and forgiveness are always possible.
