There appears to be a growing skepticism among the public towards Trump’s assertions regarding the Iran conflict and gas prices. As he traveled to Dallas for an apparently struggling Republican midterm event, Trump addressed questions from the media.
With oil prices surpassing $100 per barrel, signaling potential increases in gas prices, it was clear what the reporters were eager to discuss with Trump.
A reporter asked, “You’ve been saying for weeks that oil and gas prices are going to come down.”

Trump interjected, “They will.”
The reporter pressed on, “Oil is now back above $100 a barrel. How do you explain this to Americans who are wondering when prices are gonna come down?”
Trump responded:
Well, I think it’s very easy … to explain to America. All you have to do is say, uh, “Will you let Iran have a nuclear weapon?” And the answer is no. And they’re doing very poorly. Their country is in shambles right now. They are, uh, as you probably have seen the numbers, 300% inflation. Their money is valueless. They’re not paying their soldiers.
Uh, we control the strait and lots of other things. So for a little while, I would say this, uh, shortly, but right after the election, because they’d like to have it that way, but right after the election.
Trump suggested gas prices would see a significant drop after the midterms, continuing his series of promises:
