Jokes Bumpy Flight Will Spark Illness Rumors

Air Force One provided a bumpy ride for President Donald Trump on Thursday, and he decided to address the potential rumors that could arise from it.
During interviews on the flight back from his Asian tour, Trump struggled to stay steady through a bout of turbulence. Being conscious of appearances, he humorously acknowledged the situation.
In a playful manner, Trump joked, “They’re gonna be watching Trump. They’re gonna say, ‘He didn’t look too good. He’s got the shakes.’ I don’t have the shakes, but people are gonna think I do.”
Holding onto a door frame, Trump suggested that maybe the press interviews should have been postponed a bit, joking, “The interviews are tough enough without your life being threatened.”
The flight marked the conclusion of Trump’s 3-country tour of Asia, which included Malaysia, Japan, and South Korea. Notably, the South Korea leg of the trip featured a meeting with China’s leader Xi Jinping — their first since Trump’s return to the White House.
The turbulent journey comes at the end of a challenging month in Trump’s presidency, as the government shutdown has now entered its 30th day.
