It seems that Washington Post media critic Erik Wemple has just stumbled upon a revelation regarding MSNBC’s news coverage—namely, its glaring lack of pro-Trump perspectives. One can only assume he’s been living under a rock, for this one-sided narrative has been a hallmark of the network for years.

Anyone with even a passing interest in media knows that MSNBC has transformed into a relentless 24-hour channel focused on vilifying former President Trump. While CNN has its share of critics, they at least host Scott Jennings, and FOX News is known for balancing pro-Trump voices with dissenters. MSNBC, however, has mastered the art of presenting anti-Trump Republicans while touting a façade of bipartisanship.

FOX News reports:

MSNBC mocked by Washington Post writer for lack of debate on left-wing network

In a recent column, Wemple humorously critiqued MSNBC’s “bias toward consensus” during President Trump’s second term, suggesting their unofficial motto could very well be, “I could not agree more.”

To investigate the network’s commitment to diverse viewpoints, Wemple dedicated a staggering 18 hours to watching MSNBC. He began with ‘Morning Joe’ at 6 a.m. and continued throughout the day, expecting to encounter the vigorous debates that he had missed during his sporadic viewing. To his surprise, he found exactly one instance of a genuine debate.

This solitary debate occurred during the new evening show “The Weeknight,” where co-hosts Symone Sanders Townsend, Michael Steele, and Alicia Menendez engaged in a lively exchange with Republican Rep. Victoria Spartz from Indiana, which Wemple qualified as a debate.

While Rep. Spartz does represent a pro-Trump viewpoint, appearances like hers on MSNBC are exceedingly rare. Viewers, perhaps more astute than the network gives them credit for, seem to recognize this pattern, as evidenced by MSNBC’s plummeting ratings since last election night. The audience has seemingly grown weary of being misled for months.

Congratulations are in order for Erik Wemple, who has finally uncovered this long-standing trend. One can only wonder what his next groundbreaking discovery will be—perhaps he’ll reveal that the Biden administration’s mental acuity has been neatly tucked away by both the White House and the media.
