In the cold open of the December 6th episode of “Saturday Night Live,” Secretary of War Pete Hegseth didn’t receive much support from President Donald Trump. Colin Jost portrayed Hegseth, who was facing questions from the press about the US strikes on boats allegedly operated by narco-terrorists. Hegseth went on a tirade, insulting journalists and denying that the military operation went as planned.
He claimed that such cruel actions had no place in operation ‘Kill Everybody’ and tried to divert attention by mentioning his struggles with alcohol. Hegseth then brought out James Austin Johnson’s Donald Trump for support, but Trump was too preoccupied dreaming about NYC mayor Zohran Mamdani.
When Trump finally woke up, he half-heartedly voiced his support for Hegseth, but also hinted that he would throw him under the bus if necessary. Melissa McCarthy hosted the episode, with Dijon as the musical guest.
