Could North Carolina soon see another Trump on the ballot? Fox News host Lara Trump, daughter-in-law of President Donald Trump, is reportedly considering a bid to replace retiring Sen. Thom Tillis (R-N.C.) in her home state.
According to NOTUS, Lara Trump is “seriously considering” entering the race. NBC News’ Vaughn Hillyard also reported that a source close to the Trump family indicated Lara is strongly considering a Senate run in North Carolina.
Sen. Tillis, who has faced criticism from President Trump for his stance on certain issues, announced his decision not to seek reelection in 2026. He expressed his desire to spend more time with his family rather than navigating the political landscape in Washington.
Lara Trump has been previously mentioned as a potential candidate for Senate races in both North Carolina and Florida. She has experience in politics, having served as co-chair of the Republican National Committee and currently hosting her own show, “My View With Lara Trump.”
