President Trump Appeals Reinstatement of Cathy Harris by Corrupt Obama Judge
President Trump has taken action to appeal the reinstatement of Cathy Harris, a Biden holdover in the executive branch who was fired by Trump and then rehired by a corrupt Obama-appointed judge.
In a notice of appeal, the Trump DOJ wrote, “PLEASE TAKE NOTICE that Defendants hereby appeal to the United States Court of Appeals for the District of Columbia Circuit from this Court’s Memorandum Opinion and Order granting Plaintiff’s Motion for a Temporary Restraining Order.”
Cathy Harris, the Democrat chairwoman of the Merit Systems Protection Board (MSPB), was reinstated by a federal judge on Tuesday. The MSPB’s mission is to “Protect the Merit System Principles and promote an effective Federal workforce free of Prohibited Personnel Practices.”
Harris, who was appointed to the MSPB in 2021 with a term set to expire on March 1, 2028, was fired by Trump earlier this month. Judge Rudolph Contreras, an Obama appointee known for his anti-Trump bias, ruled that Trump had exceeded his authority in firing Harris.
Contreras cited federal law stating that members of the MSPB can only be removed for “inefficiency, neglect of duty, or malfeasance in office.” Trump had terminated Harris without providing a reason, leading to Contreras issuing a temporary restraining order and reinstating her.
Following the ruling, Harris filed a lawsuit against President Trump and other federal officials, claiming her termination violated federal law. Contreras granted her motion for a temporary restraining order, declaring her removal unlawful and enjoining Defendants from treating her as removed.
Harris has been ordered to file a motion for a preliminary injunction by February 23, 2025, with Trump’s DOJ required to file any opposition by February 28. Harris must reply by March 3.
