Cast your mind back to 2016, when the media seized upon a momentary stumble by Hillary Clinton as a clear indicator of her unfitness for the presidency during a 9/11 memorial event. Do you remember the frenzy that followed?

In case you need a refresher, here’s the infamous video:

Fast forward to the present, and we find ourselves in a similar situation with Joe Biden. Remember when the media declared that his stumble while boarding Air Force One was a stark sign of “cognitive decline”?

Now, let’s add Donald Trump to the mix. Just recently, he too had a moment of ungraceful movement while attempting to board Air Force One. A video of this incident is worth your attention:

Unlike Biden, who seems to have an inexplicable impulse to sprint up steps—an endeavor that has led to his share of mishaps—Trump appeared to move deliberately and cautiously. A lingering suspicion suggests that he might struggle to move at all with any speed. During his ascent, he was slow, focused on the ground, and visibly reliant on the railing for support, perhaps the only thing preventing a more dramatic stumble.

If we were to apply the same media scrutiny to Trump as they did to Biden, we would likely conclude that the former president may also be experiencing significant cognitive decline. His inability to navigate a simple flight of stairs, even with assistance, raises questions.

One might expect the White House press corps to swarm the next briefing, peppering Karoline Leavitt with pointed inquiries regarding Trump’s cognitive state. But who am I kidding?

The reality is that the mainstream media will likely sidestep this issue, just as they have with Trump’s age and health concerns.

Donald Trump, like any aging leader, is showing signs of decline, yet don’t hold your breath for the same critical lens that scrutinized Hillary Clinton and Joe Biden.

What are your thoughts on Trump’s recent stumble? Feel free to share your opinions in the comments below.
