The United States has experienced a mix of effective and ineffective wartime leaders. While leaders like FDR excelled during World War II, others like LBJ in Vietnam and George W. Bush in Iraq have been criticized. Within the era of television, the number of ineffective wartime presidents has surpassed those deemed successful.
Remarkably, there has never been a president in U.S. history who initiated a conflict and simultaneously provided vast financial resources to the adversary nation.

This scenario is what Donald Trump is reportedly considering for Iran.
Senator Chris Murphy highlighted the disorganized approach to the Iran conflict while speaking on NBC’s Meet The Press:
The administration has stated that regime change is not the objective. They accept leaving Iran under a regime potentially more detrimental to American interests than its predecessor. It’s anticipated that once bombing ceases, the new regime will rapidly rebuild its missile and drone capabilities. Estimates suggest that this threat could be restored within months.
What is the outcome of this war?
We will squander billions of dollars. The toll could be dozens or even hundreds of American lives lost. New regional conflicts may arise, and ultimately, a more aggressive regime will maintain similar military capabilities. This scenario is illogical. It illustrates the consequences of entrusting American national security to individuals with backgrounds in real estate and entertainment.
Murphy further emphasized the absurdity and incompetence of this situation.
