The current price of a gallon of gas stands at $3.91. At the conclusion of Joe Biden’s presidency in December 2024, this price was $2.98. Since Donald Trump has returned to the presidency, gas prices have surged by almost a dollar. However, Trump seems unfazed by this increase.

Trump expressed his opposition to a ceasefire in the Iran conflict, stating:
Well, look, we can have dialogue, but we don’t. I don’t want to do a ceasefire. You know, you don’t do a ceasefire when you’re literally obliterating the other side.
They don’t have a navy, they don’t have an air force. They don’t have any equipment to, they don’t have any spotters. They don’t have anti-aircraft. They don’t have radar, and their leaders have all been killed at every level. Uh, we’re not looking to do that.

For those anticipating that the high gas prices might lead Trump to reconsider his approach to the conflict, this seems unlikely.
Trump is convinced he is effectively dismantling Iran, a notion he previously extended to Iran’s nuclear program, claiming he had “obliterated” it last year. This is the same nuclear program that his administration had indicated was close to developing a nuclear weapon.
Donald Trump is not focusing on alleviating the burden of gas prices for Americans.
Instead, he appears to be suggesting that the rise in gas prices is a positive development.
