President Trump took to social media to troll pop superstar Taylor Swift for getting booed by Philadelphia Eagles fans at Super Bowl LIX. Trump reveled in the moment, stating, “The only one that had a tougher night than the Kansas City Chiefs was Taylor Swift. She got BOOED out of the Stadium. MAGA is very unforgiving!”
Both Trump and Swift were in attendance at the Caesars Superdome in New Orleans to support the Kansas City Chiefs, who suffered a 22-40 loss to the Eagles.
When Swift appeared on the Jumbotron during the game, Eagles fans quickly booed her, causing Swift to react with a subtle double-take before smiling. Meanwhile, Trump received applause and cheers when he appeared on the big screen during the National Anthem performance.
Despite predicting a Chiefs victory, Trump left the game early at halftime as the Eagles dominated. However, before leaving, he posted on Truth Social, sharing a post that compared the cheers he received to the boos directed at Swift.
While rumors circulated that Travis Kelce, Swift’s boyfriend and Chiefs tight end, would propose to her at the Super Bowl, the plan did not come to fruition as the Eagles emerged victorious.
Trump has shown support for the Chiefs due to his admiration for quarterback Patrick Mahomes, whose family members are vocal MAGA supporters. He was seen taking photos with Mahomes’ family members before the game.
Trump’s relationship with the Eagles has been contentious since the team declined to attend a White House celebration during his first term following their 2018 Super Bowl win.
Trump and Swift have had their own feud, with Swift endorsing former Vice President Kamala Harris, which Trump publicly criticized on Truth Social.
