One standout script from this year’s Brit List is “The Rubber Faced Men” by Faebian Averies, produced by NBC Universal. Set in 1980s West Wales, the crime series follows a man and his stepson as they uncover a drug smuggling operation and take matters into their own hands.
Another intriguing entry is “Chika” by Jenny Takahashi Stark, produced by Fable Pictures. This TV series explores the story of a working-class Oxbridge student who turns to drug dealing to fund her father’s medical expenses, navigating the challenges of an elitist society.
One of the feature films on the list is “Behave Yourselves” by Richard Tahmasebi & Christopher Vernon, produced by Big Talk. The comedy follows Craig, who goes to great lengths to impress his mentor during a company ski trip that takes a dark turn.
Other notable scripts on the 2024 Brit List include “Catch A Butcher,” a psychological horror set in 19th Century India, and “Night Movers,” a darkly comic crime thriller centered around two siblings running an undercover business.
