Disney+ has announced the production of a new anime series titled “Disney Twisted-Wonderland: The Animation,” based on the popular mobile game. This move marks Disney’s continued foray into Japanese animation, bringing to life a world filled with magical elements and beloved Disney villains.
In the universe of “Twisted-Wonderland,” seven notorious villains have been transformed into revered historical figures known as the Great Seven. These characters have each established a dormitory at Night Raven College, creating unique magical communities within the academy. Students are sorted into these dormitories based on their personalities and magical abilities.
The story follows Yuken Enma, a high school student from Tokyo, who finds himself transported to a magical realm where characters inspired by classic Disney villains reside. Night Raven College becomes his new home, a place where aspiring sorcerers train and dormitories are themed after iconic villains like the Queen of Hearts, Scar, Ursula, Jafar, the Evil Queen, Hades, and Maleficent.
Enma, who lacks magical powers, navigates the challenges of the academy as he tries to find a way back to his own world. Alongside his classmates Ace and Deuce, he must contend with the strict dorm leader Riddle Rosehearts, leading to a series of misadventures and challenges.
“Disney Twisted-Wonderland: The Animation” is part of Disney+’s expanding anime lineup, which includes titles like “Murai In Love,” “The Fable,” and “Go! Go! Loser Ranger!” Each of these series offers a unique storyline, from romantic comedy to action-packed adventures, catering to a diverse audience. Additionally, the platform has “Cat’s Eye” in development, a show centered around three sisters who lead a double life as café owners and cat burglars.
Fans can look forward to the premiere of “Disney Twisted-Wonderland: The Animation” on October 29, exclusively on Disney+. With its blend of magic, adventure, and beloved Disney characters, this anime series is sure to captivate audiences of all ages.
