The U.S. State Department Takes Action as Conflict Escalates in Israel

The U.S. State Department has initiated the evacuation of American citizens from Israel, an urgent response to a rapidly escalating conflict in the region.

On Saturday, U.S. Ambassador to Israel, Mike Huckabee, announced via X the commencement of “Operation Exodus,” a coordinated effort to facilitate the safe departure of Americans from both Israel and the West Bank.

“Operation Exodus” is assisting US citizens in evacuating from Israel. While we may not be able to part the Red Sea, we are certainly working to cut through the “Red Tape” to ensure that those who wish to leave can do so! The U.S. Embassy in Jerusalem has organized mass departures, and our team is tirelessly working to provide assistance. If you require assistance, please visit the website linked at the end of this message to request help. Given that airspace is largely closed, the challenges are considerable. Once you are on the list, you will receive options for departure via cruise ship, commercial or charter flights, or a limited number of U.S. Government-operated flights.

If an evacuation option is presented to you, we strongly advise you to accept it. Should you decline the offer, it will be extended to the next person on the list. Our primary goal is to ensure the safe departure of as many individuals as possible, but we cannot guarantee your preferred destination or mode of travel. If you fail to register, we will not be aware of your presence or need for assistance.

Be prepared; the evacuation process could take several days due to the limited availability of flights and ships coupled with high demand. In the interim, it is imperative to remain close to a shelter and to seek cover promptly at the sound of the sirens. Reports indicate that there have been minimal injuries or fatalities among those taking shelter underground. Our colleagues at the Department of State in Washington, D.C., are diligently working to identify resources for safe passage out of the country.

If you require evacuation assistance, we will not be aware unless you register at: https://mytravel.state.gov/s/crisis-intake“
