Centrus Energy Corp. (NYSE:LEU) has been recognized as one of the 20 Best Performing Stocks in 2025, according to a report by TheFly on December 24, 2025. UBS has highlighted Centrus Energy Corp.’s significant potential for Department of Energy (DOE) funding due to its launch of centrifuge manufacturing. The increasing demand for uranium enrichment to support the existing U.S. reactor fleet and projected electricity requirements from AI data centers in the 2030s has positioned the company as a key player in the industry.

UBS predicts that post-2027, a U.S. ban on Russian enrichment volumes will prioritize the need for domestic enrichment supply. The firm believes that Centrus Energy Corp. is well-equipped for the long term with its capacity build-out plans. UBS has set a price target of $245 for the company and maintains a neutral rating.

In a separate report on January 6, 2026, BofA increased its price target for Centrus Energy Corp. from $285 to $340 after the company was selected as one of three recipients of $900 million in funding from the DOE for nuclear fuel capacity. This funding will support the development of new high-assay low-enriched uranium capacity in the United States. Despite falling short of BofA’s initial expectations, the award underscores Centrus Energy Corp.’s potential for growth in the nuclear fuel sector.

Centrus Energy Corp. is actively involved in providing nuclear fuel and services for the nuclear power industry. While the company shows promise as an investment opportunity, there are other AI stocks with greater upside potential and lower downside risk.
