In a fiery tirade on his dwindling podcast, former CNN主持人 Don Lemon launched into an expletive-laden diatribe, asserting that “white men radicalized to the right” are the most significant danger facing America. The outburst, which stretched nearly ten minutes, involved spitting venomous insults and personal attacks directed at Megyn Kelly and Glenn Greenwald, both of whom criticized him earlier in the week.
This latest episode of The Don Lemon Show comes on the heels of accusations made by both Kelly and Greenwald, who chastised him for what they termed his misleading claims regarding “white men.”
The New York Post reported:
In a strikingly bizarre and explosive commentary, former CNN anchor Don Lemon blamed white men as the “real issue” fueling mass violence in America. “White men, are you okay? You’re dispatching troops and the National Guard to cities,” Lemon remarked on his podcast. “You keep lamenting about Chicago and black-on-black crime. I want to know: White men, are you all right? Because that seems to be the real problem here.”
“This country keeps waking up to scenes of bodies in pews, blood on the ground, gunfire ringing out in public spaces, and the individuals behind the trigger often share a similar identity,” he added.
The 59-year-old broadcaster, who happens to be married to a white man, insisted, “This is simply the truth, and I don’t care if it ruffles your feathers.”
“White men, something is amiss, something is fundamentally broken inside you. An alarming number of you resort to violence as a solution. Are you hearing me? I hope I’m loud enough for those in the back,” he asserted.
In response, Megyn Kelly sharply critiqued Lemon’s racially charged rhetoric on her show while highlighting the glaring inconsistency in his stance, given that he is wed to a white individual. “So, it’s white men who Lemon claims are the root of America’s issues. That’s news to his husband, who is himself a white man,” she quipped.
On Thursday, Lemon pulled no punches, unleashing a 12-minute monologue during which he accused Kelly and Greenwald of harboring racist sentiments (irony much?), diverted attention to “MAGA talking points,” and even threatened to “light your ass up.”
Don Lemon:
“Let’s have an honest discussion about FBI statistics on political violence and domestic terrorism in this nation. It’s about acknowledging who frequently perpetuates it, without deflecting to discussions about Black individuals—what you’re doing is categorically racist, and you can’t even recognize it. You get offended by this, but when will you engage in those conversations? I hear the constant dialogue about Black people, Latino individuals, and others being criminals. Yet, you never discuss white people or white men committing crimes as the statistics reveal.”“Do we face challenges that need addressing in various communities? Absolutely, but that’s not the conversation we’re having here. Why do you deflect? What they say about ‘a hit dog will holler’ comes to mind here. Kelly and Greenwald avoid discussing political violence, because tackling that subject requires confronting uncomfortable truths. The greatest threat of political violence in today’s America is indeed white men radicalized to the right. That’s a fact. Yet, they never wish to broach that topic. Instead, they sidestep, redirecting the conversation into debates about crime, no doubt to keep their base riled up. It’s indicative of the MAGA approach today; they can’t admit the truth, which is the laziest pivot in American media,” he concluded.
