Geraldo Rivera Expresses Strong Disapproval of President-elect Trump’s Nomination of Matt Gaetz for Attorney General
During a segment on NewsNation’s On Balance, NewsNation correspondent Geraldo Rivera made a controversial statement regarding President-elect Donald Trump’s choice of Matt Gaetz for Attorney General, expressing that he “threw up in his mouth” upon hearing the news.
Rivera launched into a passionate tirade, labeling Gaetz as “creepy” and even going as far as calling him a “douche” in a subsequent social media post.
When questioned by host Leland Vittert about the focus on Gaetz rather than more pressing issues, Rivera defended his stance by stating, “President-elect Trump was keen on ending the weaponization of the Justice Department, and Gaetz is seen as a tool to target Trump’s adversaries within the DOJ.”
Vittert challenged Rivera’s claims, stating, “I have not heard any indication from Trump that he intends to misuse the Department of Justice for personal vendettas.”
Undeterred, Rivera continued to criticize Gaetz, describing him as “the epitome of everything wrong in Washington,” citing his perceived privilege and backstabbing nature.
Concerns were raised about Gaetz’s confirmation by the Senate, with Rivera predicting a contentious confirmation process akin to the Clarence Thomas hearings.
Matt Gaetz is a douche. So bad for Attorney General. Gross.
