The Rocket Visa Signature® Card has been discontinued as of August 2025, leaving many homebuyers looking for alternative cash-back credit cards. Buying a home is a significant financial decision, and every dollar saved counts, especially as home prices continue to rise.

The Rocket Visa Signature® Card offered valuable savings of up to 5% cash back towards new home loan closing costs with Rocket Mortgage®. However, it’s essential to note that this card may not be suitable for every homebuyer. While it did not have many added benefits, it did provide perks from Visa Signature, such as extended warranty protection, cell phone protection, and porch piracy protection.

Cardholders also had access to Rocket Money Premium, which allowed them to track and cancel subscriptions, set up budgets and spending goals, access credit scores, and more. Unlike traditional rewards credit cards, the Rocket Visa Signature® Card did not have rewards categories to keep track of. Instead, the cashback earned depended on how the rewards were redeemed.

Cardholders could earn 5% cash back when using rewards towards their next home purchase with Rocket Mortgage, 2% cash back towards their existing mortgage balance with Rocket Mortgage, or 1.25% cash back for statement credits to their account. The redemption options varied in value, with the highest value being when rewards were used towards down payments and closing costs on a Rocket Mortgage loan.

While the Rocket Visa Signature® Card offered unique benefits for homebuyers, it’s essential to consider other options if you’re not planning to use Rocket Mortgage for your home loan. There are many other cash-back credit cards with flat rewards rates or rewards categories that may offer more value based on your spending habits.

Ultimately, the Rocket Visa Signature® Card was best suited for homebuyers planning to take on a home loan with Rocket Mortgage. However, it’s crucial to weigh the pros and cons of committing to this card before buying a home, as it may not offer the best long-term financial benefits for every individual. It’s always wise to explore different credit card options to find the one that aligns with your financial goals and preferences.
