WWE Superstar Liv Morgan found herself in a frightening situation earlier this year when a stalker broke into her home while she was away. The man responsible, identified as Shawn Chan, was later apprehended by authorities in June. Now, new details have emerged regarding the upcoming trial in this troubling case.
According to a report from PWInsider, Shawn Chan is scheduled to face trial on January 12, 2026, on one count of interstate domestic violence against Liv Morgan, also known as Gionna Jene Daddio. The United States District Court, Middle District of Florida, Tampa Division, has proposed this date and has requested confirmation from both parties by December 19.
A recent status update indicated that Chan’s defense team may opt for an insanity defense, potentially causing a delay in the trial proceedings if they proceed with the Rule 12.2(b) notice.
The disturbing incident unfolded when Chan flew from Scarborough, Ontario, to Orlando, Florida, on May 26, and falsely claimed he would be staying at the WWE Performance Center, which does not offer residential accommodations. Days later, he managed to locate Liv Morgan’s residence, where he was captured on CCTV footage prowling around the property, searching for a way inside. After leaving a note expressing delusional beliefs about knowing Liv from an online game, Chan was ultimately arrested by the FBI on June 3 and indicted on June 25, facing a potential prison sentence of up to five years.
Despite multiple attempts, Chan has been unsuccessful in securing release from jail prior to the commencement of his trial.
As the legal proceedings unfold, the WWE Superstar and her legal team will continue to navigate this distressing situation. The safety and well-being of Liv Morgan remain a top priority, and the justice system will work to ensure that the perpetrator is held accountable for his actions.
