Vice Media, a prominent media company, has welcomed a new CEO, Adam Stotsky, to lead the organization. Stotsky, with an impressive background at NBCUniversal and Dick Clark Productions, brings over 30 years of experience in TV, sports, and entertainment marketing to his new role. He will be based in Los Angeles and report to Mike Lang, the executive chairman of Vice Media and president of Lang Media Group.
The company, now owned by Fortress Investment Group, Soros Capital Management, and Monroe Capital, underwent a significant restructuring after filing for Chapter 11 bankruptcy protection in July 2023. Lang, a seasoned executive with a background in TV, film, and gaming, was appointed as the executive chairman to steer Vice Media towards growth.
Stotsky’s appointment comes on the heels of Amy Powell, a former Amazon and Paramount Television executive, joining Vice Media as the president of Vice Studios. Stotsky will oversee Vice Media’s diverse portfolio, including Vice Studios, Vice Sports, Vice Commercials, Vice News, and ad agency Virtue. The company also recently announced a joint venture with Savage Ventures to operate its Vice-branded digital channels.
Lang expressed confidence in Stotsky’s capabilities, citing his brand expertise and operational experience as key assets for Vice Media’s future growth. Stotsky, in turn, expressed his excitement about leading Vice Media during a time of rapid change and consolidation in the media and entertainment industry.
Vice Media has been making strategic moves, including distribution deals with ITV Studios, acquisitions of Cuba Pictures and London Alley, and the production of successful TV franchises like “Gangs of London” and “Bama Rush.” The company’s sports programming on Vice TV has also garnered attention, with original series in partnership with Omaha Productions.
With Stotsky at the helm, Vice Media is poised for a new chapter of innovation and growth in the ever-evolving media landscape. The company’s strategic partnerships and diverse content offerings position it as a key player in the industry.
