Chicago police have released surveillance footage of the gunman believed to be responsible for the tragic murder of a teenage boy and injuring a man in the Loop last Friday night. The incident occurred in the 100 block of South Dearborn Street around 10:37 p.m.
The surveillance video, released early Wednesday, shows a man wearing a tan jacket over a purple tracksuit or onesie, pulling out a gun and aiming it towards a crowd of people gathered in the area. As a result of the shooting, an 18-year-old man was wounded and 14-year-old Armani Floyd lost his life.
This heartbreaking event took place just minutes after another gunman opened fire near the Chicago Theatre on State Street, injuring seven people. The shootings occurred as large crowds of young people were gathered in the Loop following the annual Christmas tree lighting ceremony.
