On Monday evening, as participants exited a Turning Point USA (TPUSA) event at Portland State University, they were met with hostility from a coalition of radical activists.
Prior to the event featuring women’s sports advocate Riley Gaines, left-wing activists organized a counter-demonstration aimed at obstructing her speech. Reports indicated that some individuals attempted to forcibly enter the venue.
In a defiant statement, Gaines remarked, “Lots of things I’m scared of—spiders, clowns, etc—but a man in a dress will never be one of them.”

As attendees departed, some faced verbal harassment, including an elderly woman using a cane who was surrounded by demonstrators. The police were present to escort her, but that did not deter the crowd from hurling insults.
Comments like, “Make the world a better place, go decompose,” and “The earth would be so much better without you,” echoed amidst the chaos. Despite the vitriol, the woman maintained her composure, slowly making her way to her vehicle. Agitators even derided her cane, shouting, “Don’t rush on our behalf. Take your time, you transphobic sh**stain.”
In one particularly troubling incident, a masked protester shouted, “Fu**ing bi***. Kill yourself,” while a nearby individual added, “I hope you die behind the wheel, you stupid transphobic b****,” as she reached her car.

This raises an interesting question: If these activists are so proud of their actions, why do they conceal their identities? The masks didn’t shield some from being apprehended by law enforcement.
According to The Post Millennial, police arrested five individuals during the event after activists assaulted officers, attempted to breach the venue, and harassed attendees. Law enforcement was called to assist at approximately 7 PM local time, leading to the arrests over the following hour and a half.
Arrests were made on Monday night after Antifa and far-left militants at a Turning Point USA Riley Gaines speaking event at Portland State University assaulted police officers, attempted to break into the building, and harassed attendees.
Five people were arrested during the event for various crimes, the Portland Police Bureau (PPB) stated. Police at the university requested the assistance of the Portland Police Bureau at around 7 pm local time for crowd support outside the Smith Memorial Student Union Building. The arrests were made over the next hour and a half after police arrived on scene.
