Former Pakistan cricketer Wasim Akram recently shared details about a conversation he had with Indian cricket captain Virat Kohli regarding the latter’s decision to move to London. Akram disclosed that Kohli mentioned wanting his own space in England, similar to what Akram enjoys in Australia.

Kohli has been frequently seen in public places in London with his family during his off-time from cricketing commitments. The two cricket legends had a friendly chat during the ongoing India vs. Australia Border-Gavaskar Trophy Test in Perth, where Kohli opened up about his experience in England.

In a recent interview, Akram mentioned, “I can’t reveal everything, but I wanted to know about his family and how England is treating him. He told me that the place allows him to go for walks, as is the case with me here in Australia. He is a big star in India and is followed by fans wherever he goes. Virat also needs privacy to be himself and this is what he gets over there.”

During the Perth Test, Kohli was dismissed for just five runs in the first innings by Josh Hazlewood. Despite his recent struggles with form, Kohli was seen practicing at the Optus Stadium in Perth after the end of Day 2 of the Test match. The 36-year-old cricketer has been facing a rough patch with the bat, managing only 93 runs in six innings during the recent Test series against New Zealand.

Since the beginning of 2024, Kohli has scored 255 runs in 13 Test innings at an average of 21.25, with just one half-century to his name. As India looks to build on their lead in the second innings of the Perth Test, Kohli will be eager to put up a big score and silence his critics.

As the cricketing world watches Kohli’s performance closely, his dedication to practice and determination to bounce back from his recent struggles are evident. With the support of his fans and his own drive for excellence, Kohli will be looking to make a strong impact in the remaining matches of the Border-Gavaskar Trophy series.
